CBOL will be holding the Third International Barcode of Life Conference at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City during the week of 9-13 November 2009. Please mark your calendars-- you will be receiving additional information very soon. DNA barcoding is among the non-commercial research initiatives that are concerned about access to biological samples, so CBOL has taken a proactive role in discussions with the Convention on Biological Diversity.

If you’re looking for journals that are interested in publishing barcoding papers, please consider PLoS ONE. CBOL has been working with the Public Library of Science over the last year to create a standard format for DNA barcoding papers and two have been published in PLoS ONE in the last few months.
