The Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has created an Open-ended Working Group on Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) which has been tasked with creating an International ABS Regime by 2010. Three Ad Hoc Technical Expert Groups (AHTEGs) will meet in 2008 and 2009 to provide advice to the Working Group.
